Drikung Kagyu (Singapore) OM Centre was officially established in December 2009 and blessed by its Spiritual Director, His Eminence Nubpa Rinpoche on 28 December 2009, after the successful completion of the Singapore 9th Annual 100 Million Mani Recitation Retreat (2009).
Earlier in April 2010, we were also blessed to have the blessing and support from the Head of Drikung Kagyu Lineage, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Konchok Tenzin Kunsang Thrinley Lhundrub with an official letter issued in recognition of the centre’s establishment as among one of the Drikung Kagyu centres in the world.
Under the guidance of His Eminence Nubpa Rinpoche, the centre was set up as a place for the study and practice of Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhism and in particular in memory of the late His Eminence Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche and his heart-teaching of the Chenrezig practice, recitation of the Six Syllables Mantra “Om Mani Padme Hung” which is conducted on a regular monthly basis, on every lunar 15th of each month.
As there is an increasing interest in the Vajrayana tradition, the centre will invite eminent and highly qualified Drikung Kagyu Teachers to give teachings and guidance to all disciples from time to time. On top of that, we also have our resident Lama here to teach more about the Drikung Kagyu Lineage and its practices to all Dharma brothers and sisters.
There is so much potential that a precious human life can achieve, therefore the centre is here for us to practice, develop and maximize our potential of infinite wisdom and compassion for all mother sentient beings of the six realms.
